Point Lobos has developed growth strategy and execution for an Analytic Laboratory, Spain. Designed, in coordination with Candesic, a private hospital chain in Morocco.
Research and target identification in the Spanish Nursing Home market for Private Equity groups and Pension Funds. Worked with a German hospital group to identify acquisition targets in Spain.

Point Lobos SL participated in equity along with 3i in a Laser Eye Surgery chain in Spain. Listed in the Madrid Stock Exchange. High multiple return in 9 months.
Additionally, Point Lobos SL advises numerous startups in the Healthcare sector.
Healthcare M&A
As Chairman, John de Zulueta, prepared, in coordination with Royal Bank of Scotland and Barclays Bank, the sale of USP Hospitales to Doughty Hanson and the Quirón Group.
Point Lobos has also advised a Swiss laboratory group on sale of their Spanish operations in coordination with Lazard (Zurich, Madrid).


Insurance Consulting
Point Lobos worked directly in expansion strategy for a major Spanish health insurer via diversification into nursing homes and dental clinics and vertical integration into hospitals. Advised a major nonlife Spanish insurance company on entering the health insurance sector.
Private Equity
John de Zulueta worked for seven years as a member of the Advisory Board of 3i Europe. During this time Point Lobos was involved in all healthcare analysis and investments of this Private Equity firm.
John de Zulueta was also an equity investor and member of the Board of Directors in a major Spanish-based international consulting firm. Sold to a leading Japanese telecom and consulting group.
